MEMORY VERSE
“So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.”
– Luke 14:33
Forsake means to quit, give up, renounce, and leave entirely. Yeshua gave up all He had in heaven to come to earth as a man and die on the cross for your sins. He gave up everything for us, and He said if you want to be His disciple, you have to give up everything for Him.
Are you willing to forsake everything to follow Him? Being a disciple of Yeshua is not easy. Remember the narrow road is difficult and few travel on it.
Forsaking our sins is the first and most obvious thing we must do to follow Him, but we must also be willing to give up anything else He asks of us.
This cuts straight to the heart of idolatry. If there is something in your life that you are not willing to give up for Yeshua, that thing is an idol to you.
Is there anything you are unwilling to forsake to follow Yeshua?
Yesterday went well, I had my daughter quiz me on Matthew 10:25, John 15:5, 1 John 3:6 and Proverbs 18:17. I’ll add todays verse to that.
I met the prayer goal, although noon may have been short
I did NOT journal at night – I have to make that a discipline, to review the day while in communication with Yeshua.
Still moving forward – oh and your book Victorious came in yesterday. I can log most in there but I’m journaling in a notebook.
