“However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
– Matthew 17:21
The disciples tried to cast out a demon and Yeshua told them that this kind only comes out by prayer and fasting. They had cast out demons before, but this one was different.
There are some things that can only be accomplished through prayer, and some enemies can only be defeated through prayer and fasting.
Prayer coupled with fasting is a powerful weapon against demonic attacks. This is because prayer puts us in contact with God and fasting weakens our flesh. This combination is very powerful when dealing with sin and demonic attacks. It’s also useful when dealing with habitual sin and addictions.
If you have a particular sin in your life that you are having trouble gaining victory over, understand that your victory might require prayer and fasting.
