MEMORY VERSE
“Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?”
– Matthew 6:30
Take a moment to read Matthew 6:24-34 in context.
Yeshua is contrasting worry with faith. If God takes care of the birds and the flowers, why don’t you trust Him to take care of your needs?
Notice that He starts this teaching with the statement “You cannot serve God and mammon.” Mammon refers to money, or material wealth, and has connections to a Syrian deity, Mamona, the god of riches. Yeshua is saying, don’t trust in your wealth, trust in God.
Faith allows us to be content with what we have. When we trust in the Lord, we don’t worry about our life or what we will eat. When we walk in faith, we are more concerned with seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and we trust that He will provide everything we need.
What do you worry about? Cast your worries upon Him, and let Him take care of you
