Worship is a weapon in spiritual warfare. When we lift our voices in praise to God, the enemy is defeated. That is why Satan hates it when we worship God.
“…as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.” Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated.”
– 2 Chronicles 20:21-22
Music has the power to shape our mind, will, and emotions. Praise and worship music is a weapon to fight against Satan, but worldly music is a weapon that Satan uses against us as well. When we listen to and sing worldly music, we are letting worldly values, immorality, profanity, sexuality, violence, depression, anger, and many other things into our mind.
The song in your heart should bring glory, honor, and praise to God, not the flesh.
This week, part of your assignment is to only listen to worship music. Don’t listen to any other type of music.
