MEMORY VERSE
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all.”
- Ecclesiastes 12:13
One of the most popular philosophical questions asked is, “what is the meaning of life?” King Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived, and this was his conclusion, “Fear God and keep His commandments.”
In Ecclesiastes, Solomon wrote about his pursuit of knowledge, wealth, pleasure, love, and many other things, but he concluded that they were are all meaningless pursuits. Everything that people seek after falls short and leaves us empty and unfulfilled.
“I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind.”
– Ecclesiastes 1:14
He concluded that there is only one pursuit in this life that has any meaning at all, and that is the pursuit of God. “Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all.” This is the only thing worth doing, the only thing worth pursuing, the only thing with real meaning and value.
