MEMORY VERSE
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ”
– 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
When we can bring every thought into captivity and obedience to Christ, we will have victory over the enemy.
Remember that our carnal mind makes us an enemy of God, but when we take our thoughts captive and submit them to obedience, we no longer have a carnal mind. Now we have the mind of Christ, because of our obedience to Him.
A stronghold is a place that has been fortified to protect a particular belief that is defended and upheld. The enemy tries to set up strongholds in our mind and causes us to defend certain unbiblical beliefs.
When we take our thoughts captive, we are able to tear down these strongholds.
High places are places of idolatry and false gods that seek to take the place of God in our life. Our submission and obedience to God causes us to tear down these high places in our life.
Satan wants to keep us from obeying God, because when we obey we gain the victory.
