MEMORY VERSE
“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.”
– John 17:17
We are sanctified by the Word of God. When we meditate on the Scriptures, believing they are true, and letting them shape our mind, we are being sanctified.
Sanctification is when we allow the Word of God to shape and transform our mind so that we no longer live like the world.
Truth is defined as something that is not false, something that is absolute, a fact, in accordance with reality. Understand that the Word of God is truth. It is fact. It is absolute, and it is reality.
The problem we have is that the world around us is perceived to be reality. It is understood to be true, but it conflicts with what the Bible says.
This is where faith comes into play. We believe the Word of God is true in spite of what the world says. We believe the Bible is true and we reject the lies of the world.
When the Bible becomes more true to us than the world around us, we have been sanctified by the truth of God’s Word.
