MEMORY VERSE

“And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”
– 1 Corinthians 6:11

To be sanctified means those sinful things you once did are now in the past. You no longer participate in your former sinful ways.

Holiness means “not conforming to our former lusts.” Holiness means we conform to God’s will and not our own. Something becomes “holy” when it is excluded from common or profane use.

For example, if a spoon was dedicated for use exclusively in the Temple, that spoon is holy and sanctified. As such, it can never be used for any other purpose. To use it for a common or profane task would defile it.

We were once sinners, we were once defiled and unclean, but we have been washed by the blood of Yeshua and set-apart from the world. We need to remember this. To return to our former lusts is a defilement.

The Bible says that anyone who practices sexual immorality will not inherit the kingdom of God. That means if you continue in such sins, you will not be saved.
