MEMORY VERSE


“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?”
– 1 Corinthians 6:19

This is a deep spiritual truth that we need to understand. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we do not want to defile the Holy Temple.
The Temple is a place that is set apart to be Holy. It is the dwelling place of God. Nothing unclean is allowed into the Temple because it brings defilement.

The Bible gives instructions about what animals are clean for sacrifices. Likewise, we are told what animals are clean for food.

The Bible forbids the worship of idols and compares idolatry with fornication, adultery, and harlotry. Likewise, we are told to avoid sexual immorality because it is a sin against our own body, which is the Temple of the Holy Spirit.

“Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?”
– 1 Corinthians 6:18-19

Sexual sin is a sin against the Temple of the Holy Spirit and it causes defilement of the Temple. Keep your Temple clean and holy, do not allow lust and sexual sin to defile your Temple.
