Help!
When my wife and I enrolled our daughter in kindergarten, we made sure to know she can only eat Kosher food. Since they didn’t provide a Kosher menu (we are in Germany, after all) we agreed with the principal that she would take the Halal menu with the requirement that, in case they ever would offer hare or camel, she would get the vegan meal instead.
Yesterday when shopping our daughter asked for a gelatine in a cup (she is 6-years old and never before asked) and when we told her that it had pig in it she said there wasn’t because she ate one in kindergarten. She is out of kindergarten for a while because of the pandemic, but also because of the pandemic, she isn’t going much to the supermarket.
When we asked clarifying questions to her, she said that it happened in one of the monthly “choose your classroom day” they have where kids can choose which group they want amongst the 4 years of kindergarten they have there.
My question is: How deep should we confront the kindergarten? I know the Torah doesn’t allow us to see a crime and not report it but we are also in a financial situation that can’t afford a full legal battle (the extra-judicial notice alone would cost around 1.666€ (almost $2K). What would be a reasonable amount of effort we should put towards seeking justice?
