In looking at Lev. 23 regarding Passover, the Hebrew uses the word ‘Shabbat’ for the weekly Sabbath, but for the first and last days of Unleavened, the phrase ‘miq ra ey kadesh’ מקראי קזש is used. When scripture talks about Yom Kippur and Yom teruah the word for ‘shabbaton’ is used. So it appears that although we are to do no work on the first and last day of unleavened, they are not identified as actual sabbaths. I would love to hear any/all thoughts on this!
