I am currently in a homechurch with my hubby. My hubby and church don’t believe that we should follow all of God’s laws. They see it as a list that we no longer need to keep.

Our pastor is very involved and realised that I don’t believe what they beloeve. After being questioned I shared that I believe we should love the Lord by keeping His commandmens. They disagree and believe that I should submit to my husband and follow his spiritual leadership.

I totally agree that I should follow my hubby. However, I too shall stand before the Lord one day. It is a difficult topic to navigate.

At the end of the day, I know that I can’t convince them. Only the Holy Spirit can. In the mean time, I’m submitting as much as I can, but explained to my hubby that God comes first.

It is hard for my family. My church has removed me from Worship leadership. The leadership is having discussions with me to see what I believe which is hard. As a woman, I don’t want to have these discussions.
I know in time, I will be excluded from the church.

Hopefully something I share will make them pause and think – but in the mean time I’m just trusting our Messiah to guide me and just reveal Himself, especially to my hubby

    • Hello Christle-Lyn, yeah I believe that a lot of people have this same problem… Not many people believe that we should keep the commandments… I woundn’t know what to say to give you advise because I simply don’t have a good answer besides pray about it and do what you think is right…

At the moment I’m single and where I live the women don’t automaticly follow their partner in his belief, so I’ve also have given this a lot of thought… Because there is a 99,9% chance my next partner will not believe the way I do (if they even believe at all) and I’ve been wondering how to handle that situation too…

but maybe your Hubby is open to watching some of Lex his teachings… You can watch them and then after you can discuss it and you both can search the bible that you both think support your ideas and then compare them… Well needles to say keep it respectfull and don’t start a fight about it… I woudn’t know how else to deal with that situation… So sad to hear that you don’t agree and good luck figuring it all out 😉

About Me

Mrs Christle-Lyn Lauwrens

I am a music teacher, mommy and wife who loves our Messiah

I am a 31 year old South African who was raised in a charismatic church. Once my father died, I started pouring into scripture for comfort and was challenged with what I found. Unlearn the Lies was a tool Father God led me to, to unlearn a lot of lies that I accepted.

I'm starting to share my experience with my family. Slowly but surely my husband is starting to unlearn the lies too! I pray that the rest of my family will accept the truth in time.
