Personally, I think the best commentary is the Bible itself. Prayerfully consider reading Genesis through Revelation a few times. It is a TREMENDOUS amount of reading, but I promise you will fall in love with Him and gain discernment to distinguish between what is truly, truly divine and what is man-made.
Also, another way to study the Bible is the Discovery Bible Study program by Contagious Disciple Making. It has a scripture list called “Creation to Christ” and set of questions that works really well with a small group of people.
