Greetings!
I thought I would share and article from a Jewish perspective of Cremation vs Burial. I am from a Jewish family and have received Yahshua as my Messiah some years ago. In my search for answers to some of these questions I came across this excellent presentation of the perspective from a Judaic point of understanding. It answered many questions for my own convictions, and thought it may be beneficial for someone else who is inquiring. I appreciate your thoughts on it Lex, and would comment that Saul and his sons from my own research were cremated because of several different reasons. Their manner of death, culture of location, sanitary reasons ect…Very interesting as only the pagan tribes seemed to practice this means of the remains of the dead. Hittite and one other I can not recall. I suppose the most interesting is the fact that in Judaism to this day for the most part, cremation is not a option due to the fact man was created in the image of G-d and cremation contradicts the belief in the Resurrection. Gen 2:7, Gen 3:19 are a few of the foundational verses used to explain this conviction. Interestingly it is also the reason a wooden coffin is used in the burial. The other side of the coin is the fact that if a person dies by fire by no choice of their own as with the 6 million Holocaust victims, or ignorance of Torah due to not being taught, they are not held accountable. The web site I mentioned earlier is Chabod.org Thank you for reading, and Blessings to all. Ann
While I find some of the teachings here interesting, this explanation of the Trinity is Roman Catholic and not Biblical. Man is not described in the Bible as a triune being. According to scripture, man doesn’t have a soul, he is a soul. Animals are souls too. Soul simply means living being. I thought I’d finally come across a Church that understood the Bible but am disappointed at finding Roman Catholic false doctrines here too.
