MEMORY VERSE
“Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.”
- James 5:17-18
Elijah had no supernatural powers. He was just a regular man like you and me. The only thing that made Elijah different from anyone else was his prayer life. He prayed with faith, he prayed diligently, and he prayed earnestly.
Elijah understood the importance of prayer, and he understood that true power comes when you fall on your knees before the Almighty God.
Consider that all of the great men of faith in the Bible were men of prayer. Abraham, Moses, David, Daniel, and the prophets were all men of prayer. These men understood that “nothing is impossible for God”, and so they prayed with faith.
The sick are healed through prayer. The dead are raised through prayer. Barren women give birth because of prayer. Storms cease and rain comes when men pray. Battles are fought and victories are won through prayer.
Prayer gives ordinary men access to the Almighty God. If you want to have victory over sin, become a man of prayer.
