“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

– Philippians 4:13

We have a hard time believing that we can conquer sin, especially when it comes to lust. We are told by the world that all men lust and that it’s perfectly normal. On top of that, our flesh is constantly telling us “you can’t stop lusting”. Controlling your eyes is not an easy thing to do, and controlling your mind can be even more challenging at times.

So, when we read the words, “I can do all things through Christ”, we easily dismiss this statement of truth, and exchange it for the lie that says, “I can’t stop sinning”. Do you see how easily we exchange the truth of God for a lie?

We must let the Word of God transform our thinking and shape our beliefs if we want to have victory over sin. Stop listening to the lies of the world, the lies of your flesh, and the lies of Satan, and believe the Word of God. Stop telling yourself “I can’t quit this sin”, and start meditating on the truth that “I can do all things through Christ”.

Our beliefs guide our behavior. If you want to transform your behavior, you have to start by transforming your mind. This happens when we meditate on the Word of God daily, letting the Word penetrate and change our thinking.

When you see problems as something you can resolve, addictions as something you can conquer, and sin as something you can avoid, then you will find that victory. But if you believe the lie that says, “you can’t”, then you won’t.
