MEMORY VERSE
“speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord”
– Ephesians 5:19
Have you ever had a song stuck in your head? Was it a song that glorified God, or was it a song that glorified the flesh? Was it a song that promoted holiness or sin?
The song in your heart should bring glory and honor and praise to God, but if you are constantly listening to worldly music, the song in your heart will be worldly.
When you listen to worldly music, you are giving Satan permission to preach to you through your earbuds. You are allowing the enemy to whisper sin and blasphemy in your ear.
The things we listen to go into our heart and mind and transform our thinking. So, we need to be careful about what we listen to because we are giving those things the authority to shape our mind.
We need to fill our mind with songs that honor God so that our constant meditation will be a song of worship and praise to God.
“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”
