MEMORY VERSE
“But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.”
– Acts 16:25-26
A demon-possessed woman was tormenting Paul and Silas, and when they cast the demon out of the woman, the enemy orchestrated their capture and imprisonment. They came against the kingdom of darkness, and the enemy attacked them and threw them into prison. They were beaten and put in the most secure prison cell with stocks on their feet so they couldn’t even move.
But, they sang hymns, and their chains were broken and the prison doors were opened. All that Paul and Silas did was pray and sing hymns, and God defeated their enemy and set the captives free.
Worship is a powerful weapon in spiritual warfare. When we worship God, the enemy loses his power over us.
When you are tempted, sing praises to the LORD. When you are under spiritual attack, turn your heart toward God in worship and watch your enemy flee.
