MEMORY VERSE


“The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.”
– Psalm 34:7

We find safety, comfort, and protection in the fear of the Lord. When we fear God, we don’t fear anything else. David wrote this Psalm, and in it, he describes what it means to fear the Lord.

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him… those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing… I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who desires life… Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry… The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles… Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
– Psalm 34:8-19

One who fears the Lord is one who trusts the Lord because he knows the Lord is watching over him. Fear of the Lord means you seek the Lord, you depart from evil and walk in righteousness.

The fear of the Lord is intimately connected to faith because our fear of Him causes us to trust Him more.
