MEMORY VERSE


“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
– Romans 12:2

Renewing your mind is the key to understanding God’s will for your life. To renew means to bring something back to what it was intended for. To start over or start fresh. It’s an undoing of the changes that have taken place over time.

We need to have our mind renewed because the world has had such a negative and corrupting influence on it. The world causes us to doubt God, to enjoy sin, to speak perversely, and to think unholy thoughts. The world takes our mind and warps it, but the Word of God renews our mind and brings it back to normal. The world is not normal, the world is warped and debased. The Word of God shows us what normal really is, and when we let it transform our mind, it will guide and shape us into godly men.

If you want to have victory over sin, you have to stop thinking like the world, and start thinking like a man of God. This can only happen when we let the Word of God renew and transform our mind.

Allowing the Word of God to renew and transform your mind is essential for victory over the flesh.
